Fashion Meets Art: Nuria Boj’s Exhibition with Gucci

Nuria Boj recently had an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Gucci, and share her illustrations alongside 25 mannequins adorned in Gucci’s iconic styles during Gucci’s Cosmos exhibition. These styles ranged from the 1970s to present day and were shown next to commissioned illustrations by multiple UK-based or Chinese artists.

Nuria brings a unique perspective to the exhibition carousel with her two exceptional art pieces. “This project was an incredible opportunity and the project gave a lot of freedom for interpretation of creativity.” She shared, before explaining the meaning and symbolism behind her exhibit illustrations.

Her illustrations dive into nature on a microscopic level, showcasing the interconnected network within living organisms. Her first piece featured a King mushroom, and her second was a central dragonfly, where a spiderweb becomes a canvas for life to flourish and connect.

When asked her thoughts on seeing her art in the final exhibition, Nuria went on to say “Even though I knew these illustrations were going to be used within an exhibition, I didn’t realize how powerful the combination of illustration within real objects would be. The carousel and wonderful iconic clothing pieces behind the art, and the music in the background created such an amazing and captivating feeling that immersed the viewer inside the work and beyond the computer screen.”

As you watch these timeless designs, take a moment to remember that art, much like life, is a rich and interconnected web waiting to be unveiled.
